Sunday Snapshot {campfire}

We had a wonderful time camping up north this past weekend for my 19th birthday!! It rained in the beginning, so I wasn't able to pull the camera out till later, but I sure had fun when I did!

This is one of my favorites...it was so cold, that after playing in the creek, we pulled out some dry wood and built a campfire. We sat around it forever singing and reading the Word. Wonderful time!!!

More pictures to come!

I Heart Faces {summer fun}

Every other weekend, we get flood irrigation to water our acres of grass and trees. During the summer months, it has become a tradition to get together with friends and play with boogie boards.

Who says you can't live in Arizona and boogie board??

This picture basically sums up our idea of "Summer Fun"...this the entry to this month's I ♥ Faces photo challenge. Head over to their site www.iheartfaces.com to see the other amazing entries!!

Scripture Pictures

As my mom, sister, and I prepare to head out to the World Miniature Horse show in a few weeks, we were trying to come up with ways that we could bring glory to God at the show. We put our heads together, and decided to take a bunch of our favorite pictures, find Scriptures that go with them, and print them off and put them all in a book for our display table.

 At first, we were only going to do Mini pictures, but started branching off into other categories quickly :)

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!!

Sunday Snapshot {Girls & Horses}

What is it about girls and horses? There is something special in the bond you get with your horse...something magical about it. That that huge, beautiful creature would let you ride it, and brush it, and get upset with it, and love it - it's amazing.

My sister, Jessie, along with myself, are what you could call "horse-crazed." This picture was taken at the house of a friend who owns a Fresian.

And his name was Goliath. How perfect!!

A different type of photography!

When I got last week's assignment for the photography class I'm doing, I about died. "Anything But People." What?!?! How in the world are you supposed to photograph random things laying around your house?

It was with a very skeptical outlook that I started ransacking the house for little picture ideas, but...you know what? I actually had a lot of fun with it! Last week totally made me "Push Past My Comfort Zone"; ironically the name of the photo class!

So, here are a few little things around our house that aren't people :)

This is a beautiful key chain that a very very dear friend sent me from Germany. I have it on my bookshelf along with a picture of her, and I loved the way the color on this one came out!

Schoolwork!

After mentally debating with myself whether it was worth it or not to venture out into the heat (thermometer was reading 114), I decided to take the plunge. Lighting outside is just incomparable!

But as I walked out our front door, these little fried roses were the first things I saw...seemed appropriate! (and the light and bokeh are just heavenly!!)

This looks so tropical or Hawaiian to me! But, believe it or not, it was our little country dirt road with a glorious sunset and a blooming Bird-Of-Paradise! So fun.

This week's assignment was super fun, too...concentrating on slow versus fast shutter speed. These two pictures were in our irrigation canal. First one had a fast shutter speed (the water looks frozen) and the second one had a slow shutter speed (water is flowing). For those fellow photographers, the settings are on the pictures.

I will hopefully be posting some more shutter speed pictures later on. This class is teaching me so much!!!
